Forums come alive with debate over how much skill you need to install a blind and arguments flare up around the best blinds for your home. We see this and we sit in the shadows, waiting for the right moment to intervene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">After reading a forum discussion on a popular motherhood website asking: \u201c<em>Stylish roller blind \u2013 is there such a thing?????<\/em> (sic)\u201d and seeing the ensuing responses that included withering one-liners like \u2018<em>stylish roller blind is an oxymoron<\/em>,\u2019 we decided to act.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">There are a lot of myths out there that prevent people from finding suitable blinds that are ideal for their homes. It\u2019s not nice to see people base their opinions on the thoughts of other people, so we\u2019re wading in with this list to debunk those myths. Prepare yourself if you\u2019ve lived in the dark for too long because our blinds are about to throw some shade (sorry!) on those misguided assumptions.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"MsoNormal\">MYTH: \u201cInstalling blinds is too difficult\u201d.<\/h3>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right;\" title=\"Blinds aren't hard to install, just use your head and have a bit of patience!\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dotcomblinds.com\/pub\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Installing_image1.jpg\" alt=\"A person installing a generic roller blind in a window\" width=\"400\" height=\"325\" \/>Ok, let\u2019s set a few things straight here. Installing blinds, such as a long <strong><a class=\"c-turquoise\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dotcomblinds.com\/blinds\/roller-blinds\">roller blind<\/a><\/strong> or a <strong><a class=\"c-turquoise\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dotcomblinds.com\/blinds\/wood-venetian-blinds\">wooden venetian blind<\/a><\/strong> may take a bit more planning and concentration. You can\u2019t throw a blind at a window and hope for it to stick, but we have simplified the installation process to require a <strong><a class=\"c-turquoise\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dotcomblinds.com\/blog\/what-tools-you-need-to-install-a-blind\/\">minimal amount of tools<\/a><\/strong> and only a handful of drilled holes and screws. If you\u2019re not exactly DIY-inclined then yes, it may take you a little longer than someone who knows their way around a power drill, but it will only require a smidge more effort.
