It\u2019s easy being green!<\/h2>\n

Here at DotcomBlinds<\/a>, we are big on sustainability, we know that it\u2019s important to our customers, so of course it\u2019s important to us as well!<\/p>\n

Over the past few years, we have offered our customers multiple ways to make their blinds more \u2018green\u2019 so we thought that we would share some of the ways we try to promote sustainability with our blinds.<\/p>\n

Made In The UK<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The vast majority of the blinds we sell at DotcomBlinds are made in the UK at our flagship factory based in Essex (which will soon be powered by 100% renewable energy by the way!) or one of our satellite factories around the country, this means that if you buy a blind from us, your finished blind won\u2019t be travelling halfway around the world before arriving at your door.<\/p>\n

As most of our blinds won\u2019t need to be flown across the globe, you can rest easy knowing that your new blinds will have a smaller carbon footprint when you buy them from DotcomBlinds!<\/p>\n

Solar Powered<\/strong><\/h3>\n

It\u2019s not just our flagship factory that\u2019s solar powered, our electric blinds<\/a> can be as well! For all of our standard sized electric roller blinds we offer a choice of battery power or solar power to operate the blind. We have a blog post looking at our solar powered blinds here<\/a>, but the gist of it, is that we can provide solar chargers to harness the power of the Sun to power your blinds.<\/p>\n

While the carbon footprint to charge up a battery roller blind isn\u2019t massive, every little helps and by choosing a solar powered blind over a battery powered one will help lower your home\u2019s carbon footprint.<\/p>\n

Thermal Insulation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We offer a range of thermal blinds<\/a> in our store, these blinds will provide an additional layer of insulation to your home\u2019s windows, which will help your home retain heat better in the Winter. With an extra layer of insulation, you will need to use your heating less, which will lower both your utility bills and your home\u2019s carbon footprint.<\/p>\n

They don\u2019t just help in Winter though! We offer solar reflective backing on most of our thermal blinds, which will reflect away heat in the Summer to keep your home cooler, meaning you don\u2019t have to run a fan all day long!<\/p>\n

Replacement Blinds<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Sometimes when our customers come to us, the fabric on their old blinds is starting to show it\u2019s age, but the rest of the blind works perfectly fine. In these cases we are happy to offer our replacement blinds slats<\/a>, where you just need to buy the fabric, saving the otherwise fine hardware of your blind from ending up in landfill.<\/p>\n

In the time we\u2019ve offered replacement fabric, we have helped countless customers across the country bring new life into their windows, while minimizing unnecessary wastage.<\/p>\n

Replacement Parts<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Sometimes though, a customer comes to us not because their blind\u2019s fabric looks worn, but that the hardware is no longer working right. In those cases, we can offer replacement hardware parts<\/a>, so that our customers can fix the blind rather than binning it to buy a new one.<\/p>\n

We offer replacement parts for the majority of the blinds we sell, meaning that when you have a hardware issue you can simply fix your blind, rather than condemning it to a landfill site and buying a whole new blind.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not all though, the team here at DotcomBlinds<\/a> are always looking for new ways we can promote sustainability and minimise the carbon footprint of our blinds, so going forwards, we will be looking for new opportunities and initiatives to help make us even greener!<\/p>\n
