Now that you have your curtains, you\u2019ll need to hang them up on your window so they can do their job and keep you shaded.<\/p>\n

But before you hang your curtains<\/a>, you\u2019ll need to know whether you need a curtain track<\/a> or a curtain pole to hang them up on, so which do you need?<\/p>\n

Should My Curtains Hang From A Pole or Tracks?<\/h3>\n

If you have Eyelet Curtains you\u2019ll more than likely want to hang them on a curtain pole as the pole will easily thread through the eyelets on your curtains and using eyelet curtains with a curtain pole gives them the best look and ease of use.<\/p>\n

However if you get a Pencil Pleat Curtain or a Double Pleat Curtain, things can get a bit murky as they\u2019re best suited to be hung on a curtain track as they have hooks, which loop into the rollers on curtain tracks. But you can also connect these types of curtains to a curtain pole by attaching the hooks to loops which connect to the curtain pole, but your curtains won\u2019t look their best when hung this way.<\/p>\n

So as a general rule for Eyelet Curtains you\u2019ll want a curtain pole and for Pencil Pleat Curtains and Double Pleat Curtains \u00a0you\u2019ll want to opt for a curtain track instead.<\/p>\n

What Is The Best Option Between A Curtain Pole & Curtain Track?<\/h3>\n

If you already have your curtains, it\u2019s best to make a choice based on what works with your curtain, but if you haven\u2019t purchased your curtains yet, you\u2019ll need to consider how you want to hang your curtains.<\/p>\n

Obviously, you can make this a stylistic choice, some people naturally prefer curtain poles, whereas some people prefer curtain tracks. But aside from style, each hanging method has its own pros and cons which you should know before making a choice.<\/p>\n

Curtain tracks <\/strong>are great when you\u2019re short on space, as they can be easily attached either to the ceiling or a wall and have a low profile design. Curtain poles<\/strong> are also incredibly easy to hang your blinds on, as you just need to thread the pole through your curtain\u2019s eyelets to connect them, whereas curtain tracks need you to connect each hook to the gliders on the track.<\/p>\n

The main downsides of curtain poles are that they take up more space than curtain tracks, meaning they can be hard to use in tight spaces; unlike curtain tracks you won\u2019t be able to have a drawcord operation, meaning they need to be operated by hand; and as a general rule curtain poles tend to be more costly than curtain tracks.<\/p>\n
