{"id":883,"date":"2018-03-12T12:06:57","date_gmt":"2018-03-12T12:06:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dotcomblinds.com\/blog\/?p=883"},"modified":"2023-04-21T13:03:13","modified_gmt":"2023-04-21T13:03:13","slug":"best-blinds-for-kitchen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dotcomblinds.com\/blog\/best-blinds-for-kitchen\/","title":{"rendered":"Kitchen Blinds"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 align=\"center\"><b>Venetian Blinds Are Perfect For The Kitchen<\/b><\/h2>\n<p align=\"center\"><b><!-- pagebreak --><\/b><\/p>\n<p>If you know you need a blind for your kitchen but you\u2019re lacking the courage or inspiration to go ahead and place an order, you\u2019re in the right place.<\/p>\n<p>Shading your kitchen can be rather tricky \u2013 it\u2019s one of those few rooms where you work in and so it needs to be practical as well as aesthetically pleasing.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right;\" title=\"If you do a lot of cooking in the kitchen, you're putting your blinds through a lot of heat, cooling, humidity and more.\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dotcomblinds.com\/pub\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Hot_Oven1.jpg\" alt=\"A person getting a roast chicken out of the oven\" width=\"400\" height=\"325\" \/>You get things done in your kitchen and any blind will be subjected to pretty extreme conditions, from jungle-like humidity to desert heat to arctic conditions (we\u2019re talking the equivalent temperatures here unless you\u2019re installing it in a globe-trotting caravan). The conditions change rapidly and they can soon take a toll on the wrong kind of blind.<\/p>\n<p>Think about it: if you get the kitchen blind wrong you risk fire, excessive heat in the Summer, an overworking fridge and freezer, spoilt fruit and even mould. And who said blind shopping was easy?<\/p>\n<p>A kitchen blind ideally needs to be fire-retardant, capable of providing shade when you need it, but equally easily manoeuvred to allow in light. It blocks harmful sun rays that will shrivel up your fruit bowl\u2019s occupants quicker than you can say \u2018avocado\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Too much heat in the kitchen causes your appliances to work harder to keep the contents cool. As a result, the harder your fridge has to work, the hotter the exterior and this will, in turn, heat up your kitchen (and probably the world if you think about it). It will also cost you more in energy bills.<\/p>\n<p>Ok.<\/p>\n<p>I <i>may<\/i> have got a little carried away with that one. Stick with me.<\/p>\n<p>One thing you really need to consider when buying a blind for your kitchen is where it is going to be fitted. If you have a window above the kitchen sink as do most people, you probably want a durable, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dotcomblinds.com\/blinds\/roller-blinds\/shopfeature\/moisture_resistant\">water-resistant blind<\/a><\/strong>. Steam and moisture are enemies of the fabric <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dotcomblinds.com\/blinds\/roller-blinds\">roller blinds<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 unless it\u2019s PVC \u2013 so steer clear of this.
