How to Measure
How to Measure

Step 1

1.1 Before you begin, ensure there is a 25mm clearance from the glass to any obstruction e.g. handle.

1.2 Check the seals (gaskets) of your window frame do not protrude over the glass more than 6mm. If the seals are compressible you can take a bead to bead measurement, if they are not compressible (solid) you should take a seal to seal measurement.
If your seals are none of the above then our Perfect Fit may not be suitable for you.

Step 2

Measure the width and the drop of the visible window glass accurately with a measuring tape. We recommend that you measure in both corners and the middle of your window and use the smallest size taken.
Please don’t try to complicate things by taking into account gaskets or over-engineer anything; we just need the width and drop of the visible glass area. We’ll handle the rest!

Step 3

Now we need to know the depth of the window.
Measure from the face of the window frame to the glass (this is normally 20mm/24mm) and will determine the size of the window fixing brackets you will use. A handy tip is to lay a thin solid object such as a metal ruler (or similar) across the frame and then using a tape measure take the distance from the glass to the underside of the ruler.

Now the fun starts!

Now that we’ve got all the measurements sorted, it’s time to browse for your new PerfectFit blind. Simply head over to our range of PerfectFit blinds and explore the collection. From here, you can order FREE fabric samples, which will be sent to you by first-class post, or you can dive straight in and use your measurements to order your blind.
We always recommend ordering fabric samples – it’s a great way to see and feel the fabric or slat in the comfort of your own home and compare it with your windows or room accessories. This will give you peace of mind knowing you’ve chosen the Perfect(Fit!) Blind.

How to Install
How to Install
  • Step 1

Awesome – you've got your PerfectFit Blind! Now, let’s get it fitted to your window. No drill needed, and it’s so simple that even the least DIY-savvy among us could do it with one eye closed!

Where possible, we’ll ship your PerfectFit blind as a fully assembled unit. However, depending on your delivery location and the courier, this might not always be the case. If your blind’s frame isn't already assembled, you’ll need to start at Step 1. But if it is – lucky you – you can jump straight to Step 2!

1.1 To assemble the frame, lay out your blind on a flat surface, making sure there are no tangled cords or obstructions.

1.2 Clip the corner covers onto each corner, then attach the sides of the frame to the top and bottom corner pegs, pressing them firmly into place and securing with the eight(8) screws included. That’s it – frame assembled!

    Step 2

Now, let’s check your tension (not the kind in your neck!). Do you have to? Not really, but it’s quick and could save you time later if your blind needs a slight tweak. With the blind standing upright, raise and lower it as usual. Does the fabric or slats start dropping as if by magic? If so, you can easily increase the tension.

Look under the bottom frame bar – you'll find a small spring with a brass clamp holding the cord. Using a small screwdriver, loosen the screw, pull the loose end through by about 5-10mm, and then tighten the screw. Test the blind again. Too tight? Loosen the screw and release a bit of cord.

Pro Tip: Mark the cord either side of the clamp with a pen, so you know how much you’re adjusting.

    Step 3

Nearly there! Let’s get those metal brackets in place. Line up the frame so the brackets fit through the pre-cut slots, and... Perfect!

Use a credit card as a guide – hold it vertically in the corner of the glass. Each bracket should be located at the bottom of the card's position (as shown in the image). Your blind will have at least four brackets. If it has a drop of over 1200mm, you’ll have two extra brackets, which go vertically at the midpoint of your window. Measure to find the centre, then insert your brackets.

    Top Tips:

If you feel resistance when sliding the brackets between the gasket and the glass, a dab of washing-up liquid on the bracket will help ease it into position.

Before pushing the frame into the brackets, line it up to make sure the slots align. If they don’t, you’ll know exactly where to adjust.

That’s it – job done and not a single messy drill hole needed! Now, stand back and admire your new blind and the Perfect(Fit!) job you did. Any questions? Feel free to get in touch – our online team is more than happy to help.

This blind is made in the UK in one of DotcomBlinds’ UK factories. By purchasing a blind made right here in the UK you are helping to support the British manufacturing industry. Blinds made in the UK will typically have shorter lead times due to the fact they won’t need to be shipped internationally.

This blind features a blackout fabric, proving the light-blocking benefits you would expect from a blackout blind. This fabric will not allow exterior light to pass through it, helping to create a dark environment in your home, which is ideal for bedrooms and home cinemas. Please be aware a minimal amount of light may still leak into a room around the edges of the blind.

This blind features a plain fabric with a solid colour. Plain fabrics are incredibly versatile and can easily be matched to the existing decor in your home or add a fresh new colour to your windows. Be sure to order FREE fabric samples to get a feel for the look and feel of the fabric in person before making a purchase.

This “No-Drill” blind features our Honeycomb fabric, which will provide excellent levels of shading and an enhanced level of insulation to your windows. The honeycomb shaping of the fabric creates small pockets of air which will improve the insulation around your windows.
