A Thermal Conservatory Blind is a pleated blind that is available in a variety of colours. Held close to the window, the Thermal Conservatory Blind is a great way to insulate your room, particularly the blackout conservatory blinds. The blackout fabric for a Conservatory Blind is a honeycomb, which creates a dual layer of fabric with air in between. The dimout fabric will also help improve the insulation of the room by providing a barrier against the cold. Both fabrics are also solar reflective, and this means that the sunlight is bounced out of the room, which helps to keep the room cool in the summer months (and it also helps to protect your room from damage from UV rays)!
What are the benefits of Thermal Conservatory Blinds
Thermal Conservatory blinds are a great way to insulate your windows and to stop the cold from entering your room. They create a barrier between the glass and the room, keeping the warmth on the inside and the cold out. This means not only do you enjoy a warmer room in the winter and a cooler one in the summer, you save energy and even reduce your heating bill!
Not only do they insulate your windows, they look stylish at the same time, and we offer a large variety of blinds to choose from.
How do Thermal Conservatory Blinds work?
A thermal blind requires no additional work from you to function, it is simply the nature of the blind. In essence, having anything in your window will improve the insulation of your room simply because it creates a barrier, however our thermal Conservatory blinds are made from fabric that ensures the amount of air moving from the room to the glass and vice-versa is kept to a minimum. By breaking up this convection current, the warmth stays in the room and the cold stays close to the glass.
Do Thermal Conservatory Blinds work in the Summer?
All blinds are ideal for the summer as they create shade. In the hottest months a thermal Conservatory blind will work in reverse to what it does in the winter – it will keep the room cool and stop the heat entering the room. Again, this is because it creates a barrier that blocks sunlight. An added benefit of this is that the sun’s damaging UV rays are also blocked from entering, which means your furniture will be protected from fading or damage.
Measuring and Installing Thermal Conservatory Door Blinds
Measuring and installing these blinds is so easy to do. Take the corner of a credit card and push it into the rubber gasket around the window pane. If you’re able to get the card under the gasket then your window is suitable for pleated blinds, as they have tabs that hold the blind in place under the rubber gasket. Simply measure from the end of the rubber gasket on the window pane to the opposite end to get the width, and repeat for the drop measurements. Don’t be tempted to make deductions, we do all of that for you. Installing these blinds for conservatories couldn’t be easier. Push one tab on the headrail under the rubber gasket, then the second and push up to the top of the window. Repeat this with the bottom bar and push down to the bottom of the window. There you go! Installed without any need for hammers, drills, screws or nails!
