The perfect way to refresh those tired looking vertical blinds, our range of replacement vertical slats lets you choose only the fabric part of a vertical blind. Our replacement vertical blind slats are made to measure to ensure they look perfect in your window, and come ready to go for you to simply attach to your existing headrail. Our slats are 89mm wide and are made to the drop measurement and quantity you supply. Please note you will not receive a headrail with these replacement slats – just the fabric part of the blind. If you require a whole vertical blind – louvres and headrail included, please take a look here.
How to Measure for Replacement Vertical Blind Slats
If you’re replacing slats that are already on the vertical blind, then simply measure from the top to the bottom of the existing louvre. Please note the drop measurement needs to be in centimetres.
For vertical blind rails without louvres on them, measure from the bottom of the headrail hook to where you want the fabric to finish. Take a second to consider where you want the louvre to sit at the bottom of the window. If you measure right to the window sill then the slat will sit on the windowsill and drag along, so it’s worth making sure it sits just above. Please note the drop measurement needs to be in centimetres.
Next, just count the number of existing louvres or headrail hooks, which will tell us how many slats you need.
When you come to place your order for replacement vertical blind slats you’ll have a few choices to make, such as how you would like the bottom of the slat to look. We explain each below.
Chain and Weights
This is probably the most standard replacement slat configuration, as the slats will come with a plastic 21g weight in the bottom of each louvre and a chain that connects them together. The chain clips to the weight and is designed to separate from the weight should anything become entangled. The benefits of having a weight and chain on the replacement vertical slats is that it reduces the amount of independent movement each slat has and slows swinging louvres quicker.
Enclosed Weights Only
Ideal for households with pets or children, these louvres are a no-tangle solution! The 21g weights at the bottom of the slat are sealed into the louvre itself and there are no chains connecting the slats themselves.
So there you go, if you’re looking for replacement vertical blind slats, this is the place to go! Just remember these replacement slats don’t come with a headrail – if you’re looking for that you need to go here!
