They’re a popular choice for curtain tracks, and can also work with a pole using the right attachments. Measuring, Fitting & Installing Your Curtains

Measuring for made to measure curtains is refreshingly straightforward. If you already have a curtain pole or track, measure the width (excluding finials). If you don’t yet have a pole or track, measure the width of the window recess/space and add around 30cm, so you’ve got roughly 15cm of coverage on each side.

For the drop, most people choose one of these finishes: around 1.5cm above the floor, about 15cm below the windowsill, or 2–3cm above a radiator. If you’d like a hand with the details, please consult our curtain measuring guide here.

With made to measure curtains, you can tailor the details to your space – and lining is a big one. Once you’ve chosen your pencil pleat header, you can select the lining that best suits the room and how you use it.
