The headrail is securely held by brackets extending from the side channels (see 'How to Install' for full details). This design naturally creates a small gap behind the headrail and bottom bar. While this does not impact privacy, please note that a minor amount of light may pass through this area. If you’re seeking a complete blackout effect, consider this aspect. For enhanced light control, we can provide additional adhesive strips (available at a small cost) that adhere to the glass and run horizontally behind the headrail and bottom bar.

Please note we make a 2mm deduction to the width to ensure smooth operation of the blind, with a tolerance of +/- 1-2mm on our window blind deductions.

If you wish to know how much space the headrail and fabric will take up at the top of the window, you’ll first need to know the drop measurement. For every metre of drop, add 10mm. Add this to 30mm (the combined height of the top bar and pull-down bar), and you’ll have a rough estimate of the area that will be covered when the blind is fully drawn up.

Selecting the Control Type
Selecting the Control Type
Our Clic Stick Fit Surface Fabric Blinds: Single or Dual Control—Your Choice!

Our Clic Stick Fit Surface fabric blinds offer two control styles for managing light and privacy: Single Control and Dual Control. Both options are designed to be easy to use, but each offers a unique twist on how you adjust your blinds. Let’s dive in!

Single Control
Single Control keeps things refreshingly simple! With one handle, you can raise the fabric from the bottom or lower it from the top, letting you easily adjust the blind as it glides up and down the glass. It’s seamless and feels almost magical! This traditional control style is perfect for those who like a straightforward, classic approach—just lift and let go for perfect positioning every time.

Dual Control
Now, if you’re after more flexibility, our Dual Control option is here to impress! Dual Control gives you two handles: one to move the fabric from the top and another to adjust it from the bottom. It’s like having a dance partner for your window! This setup is perfect for fine-tuning your privacy and light levels, whether you're in the mood for sunshine or a cosy, shaded atmosphere. Dual Control makes it easy to play with light exactly how you want—consider it customising your personal view!

Single Control Dual Control

What Our Experts Say...
Single Control is straightforward and efficient, ideal for minimal fuss and maximum control. With the fabric securely fixed at the top, no light seeps in where the fabric meets the headrail, giving a clean look and great coverage. Just pull the single tab, and you’re set! When considering the operation, think roller blinds; if that works for you, this could be the best option.
Dual Control, on the other hand, opens up endless possibilities for positioning your blinds. Imagine it’s 3 pm, and the sun’s creating a glare on your TV. With dual control, you can adjust the blind to block that glare while allowing light to be in the rest of the room—problem solved! Remember that since the fabric isn’t fixed to the headrail, you might notice a bit of light sneaking between the top of the fabric and the headrail; by design, you won't always get the snuggest of fittings at this point. Dual Control might not be your best option if you’re looking for the highest level of blackout and privacy.

Choosing the Right Control for You.
Ultimately, picking the right control style depends on your preferences and how you like using your blinds. Single Control is fantastic for a simple, fixed design; if you want adaptable options and love customising your space, Dual Control gives you the power to do just that!

How to Measure
How to Measure
How to Measure

Clic Stick Fit Surface blinds are the ultimate no-drill solution, perfect for most windows, including tilt-and-turn designs. These blinds don’t require any fixings to be slid under the gasket; instead, they’re securely held in place by side strips that attach directly to the glass.

To ensure the best possible fit, we require accurate measurements for both the width and drop of the blind. Simply measure the full size of the visible glass between the gaskets only. That’s it! Please don’t overcomplicate the process or try to be extra helpful by measuring anything other than the visible glass area. Your new blind will be manufactured precisely to your visible glass measurements.

A Couple of Things to Note:
We deduct 2mm from the width of your measurements at the manufacturing stage to allow smooth movement of the cords. The finished blind projects 35mm from the glass to the front of the folded operating handle, which is important to consider if you’re measuring for bi-fold doors.

Measure Width

Take two width measurements at the top and bottom of the window. If there is any variation, always use the shortest width to order your blinds. For particularly large windows, you can take intermediate measurements to double-check.

Measure Drop

Take three measurements of the window drop. If there are any variations, again, always use the shortest measurement. Please ensure you measure accurately and to the nearest millimetre for the best fit.

That’s it! Just take those measurements, enter them on your chosen Clic Stick Fit Surface blind page, place your order, and sit back knowing we’ll handle the rest. Your new blind will be on its way to you as soon as possible!

Did you order a free fabric sample? We always recommend it! Ordering a sample lets you choose the perfect fabric to suit your décor and gives you a little taster, so you can feel confident you’ve made the right choice.

How to Install
How to Install
How to Install

Step away from the drill, lose the hard hat, and toss the clipboard—this could quite possibly be the easiest blind in the world to install! Let’s walk you through the process.

Insert the L-Shape Double Bobble Bracket: Start by inserting the L-shape Double Bobble bracket into the side profiles (see the image below). Make sure the bobble faces upward inside the L-shape to fit securely into the profile adaptor.

Apply the Side Profiles: Remove the backing paper from the self-adhesive strips on the side profiles, then place them on the left and right sides of the glass as shown below. Take your time with this step—these strips aren’t designed to be moved once they touch the glass. Make sure the strips are snug against the gasket (but not overlapping it!) to avoid any light bleed between the strip and gasket. No one wants that!

Install the Blinds: Locate the slot on the back of each side of the blind headrail and gently push it onto the exposed, protruding part of the L-shape bracket. Ensure that the raised circle on the bracket aligns with the hole in the plastic end cap on the headrail. Repeat for the bottom rail.

That’s it! Not a single drill hole in sight—you’re now a Clic Stick Fit Surface blind installation pro!

Adjusting the Tension

Your Clic Stick Fit Surface Blind comes with a spring and cord clamp under the bottom bar, allowing you to adjust the tension as needed.

When to Adjust the Tension

With the blind installed, raise and lower it as usual. If the fabric or slats drop on their own, as if controlled by magic, you can increase the tension to keep them in place.

How to Adjust the Tension

Loosen the Cord Clamp: Hold the cord that protrudes from the clamp, and slowly loosen the screws with a flat-head screwdriver. No need to remove the screws completely—just loosen them enough to free the cord.
Adjust the Cord: Once the cord is loose, gently pull it through to add tension or release a small amount to lessen it.
Secure the Cord: Tighten the screws to secure the cord in its new position. If the blind still drops, repeat the process and pull a bit more cord through. If the blind feels too stiff, loosen the cord slightly.

Top Tip: To track the amount of cord you’re adjusting, mark both sides of the cord with a pen at the clamp. Pull through around 5-10mm to get the right tension.

Child Safety

Ensuring our products are child safe is a priority for all of us at DotcomBlinds. As a result, our blinds are child safe by design, with built-in safety mechanisms to help reduce the risk of an accident.

Pleated blinds have no chains or cords to operate the blind and the cords used within the blind are internal, with capability for any slack to be gathered up under the blind and tucked out of sight.

If you have any questions around child safety and our blinds, please do not hesitate to get in touch, we're always happy to help.

Manufacturing defects

So, in summary, avoid grossly mistreating your blind, show it a little TLC every so often and don’t use it in ways it wasn’t intended. If you do all those things and something goes wrong with the blind, you’re golden – we’ve got you covered and we’ll and repair or replace it free of charge.

This blind features a thick thermal fabric, which will help provide additional insulation to your home’s windows, making your home more thermally efficient. In winter, these blinds will keep your home warmer by minimising heat loss through your windows, and in summer, they will keep your home cooler by minimising the amount of outside heat that enters your interiors.

This “No-Drill” blind can be made with a Dual Control mechanism, which allows you to move the blind from the top and bottom sides of the blind to shade, allowing you to shade individual sections of your windows (unlike our Single Control option which is only “top-down”).

This blind uses a pull tab operation for simple hand control. To open and close the blind, simply grab the pull tab and move the blind up or down the window.

This blind is available on our Same Day Priority Dispatch Service, which is ideal for when you need a blind in a hurry. By selecting the Same Day Priority Dispatch option at checkout, your blind will jump to the front of our production queue, being made and dispatched that same day when ordered before 11am on weekdays (orders after 11 am or on weekends/bank holidays will be prioritised for the next working day). Please be aware that while most SDPDs are delivered the next working day, we do not guarantee next-day delivery.

This blind is made in the UK in one of DotcomBlinds’ UK factories. By purchasing a blind made right here in the UK you are helping to support the British manufacturing industry. Blinds made in the UK will typically have shorter lead times due to the fact they won’t need to be shipped internationally.

This blind features a dimout fabric, which will provide shade to a room without completely blocking out exterior light; helping to create a bright but shaded space. Dimout fabrics are ideal for living spaces in your home, filtering exterior light to provide shade and reduce glare while keeping the space bright during the day.

This blind features a plain fabric with a solid colour. Plain fabrics are incredibly versatile and can easily be matched to the existing decor in your home or add a fresh new colour to your windows. Be sure to order FREE fabric samples to get a feel for the look and feel of the fabric in person before making a purchase.

This “No-Drill” blind features our Honeycomb fabric, which will provide excellent levels of shading and an enhanced level of insulation to your windows. The honeycomb shaping of the fabric creates small pockets of air which will improve the insulation around your windows.
