Product Description
Product Description

This aluminium cubicle track is a capable and easy solution to provide privacy for a hospital-bed style situation, whether it is a single bed bay or multiple beds. All of our Movatrack® cubicle tracks are supplied with a curtain removal point as standard that makes it really easy to change the cubicle curtain.

The maintenance-free wheeled roller hooks provide an almost frictionless draw and quick and easy curtain attachment. The roller hooks require no lubrication and the entire track is incredibly low maintenance – just general cleaning practices are required.

Each cubicle track is made from aluminium that we can bend into shape, which not only ensures the roller hooks move smoothly, but means the track can span three metres before a fixing is required. For longer lengths, your track can be seamlessly joined, allowing for easier transportation to site. The join doesn't inhibit the movement of the rollers. All tracks are supplied with fittings - wall shoes and ceiling supports (if required). This allows for a simple installation and extra stability for the track.

Please note: All of our tracks come with wall shoes as standard, and these are what connect the ends of the track to the wall. For a straight length over 3m, a ceiling support is automatically supplied, and if there is a bend, ceiling support is automatically supplied. Ceiling supports are 1m long and the installer can easily cut them down to size if required.

U Shaped

This track will have one standard ceiling support and a v-hanger ceiling support to prevent sway, with more dependent on the length of the track. U Shaped Cubicle Tracks here

Technical Information
Technical Information

The standard fitting height for our cubicle track is 2100mm, which accounts for a number of curtain lengths. All supports are supplied with a drop of 1 metre. If you have a bigger fitting height, please advise by email ([email protected]) immediately after placing your order, quoting your order number and we can process it accordingly at an additional cost.

Made from quality white-powder coated aluminium or anodised silver with roller hooks at 10 per metre, cubicle curtains also available. Complies fully with the requirements of HTM66. The track itself measures 38mm tall with a depth of 20mm.

Our silver track is anodised aluminium which means its surface is much harder than regular aluminium and gives it a modern, chic, silver appearance.

For multiple bay options, and overlap is supplied which covers the join between one bay and the next. All fixings are supplied with the track, including ceiling supports to suspend the track and end stops and wall-shoes for fitting it neatly to a wall. The smallest length of a return to a wall after a bend is 500mm if hitting a wall square on, and the tracks require a minimum distance of 900mm between two bends on a U-Shape Cubicle Track

We strongly recommend a qualified, trained and accredited fitter carries out the installation of this product in health care and hospital environments.

Fitting Ceiling Supports to Ceiling Tiles and Grid

A ceiling support for our cubicle tracks is an essential way of maintaining the rigidity of the track, preventing lateral swing and ensuring the structure is stable. They come in metre lengths, however they can be cut down to size should you require the track to sit closer to the ceiling. They must always be fitted within 150mm from a join and there must not be more than a 3000mm distance without support. For situations that require a ceiling support in a room with ceiling tiles and grid there are a couple of solutions.

The first is to go through a small hole in the tile above the support and up into concrete above the ceiling. This may require extra long ceiling supports, so if you intend to do this, please advise our team at the time of ordering or immediately after by emailing ([email protected]).

The second option is to lay a length of wood across the grid above the tile near where you wish to fix the ceiling support. You’ll be able to fit the ceiling support through the ceiling tile and into the wood.

How To Measure

How To Measure Your Cubicle Track

We do all the hard work, so you don’t have to!

Firstly, identify the cubicle track layout that you require, and how many bays you need to cover. By selecting the relevant layout on the page you’ll be presented with an easy form for your measurements.

When taking your measurements, measure along a wall or ceiling to ensure accuracy and an even plane.

Enter the corresponding measurement for the lettered sides. If your track is going to have a bend, measure as though it is a 90 degree right angle – don’t attempt to account for the radius of the bend – we take care of all that.

Once all your measurements are inputted, click the ‘calculate price’ button – simple!

Here's a quick top tip for when you come to order your cubicle curtain: It is diligent to add 20% of the width to the width measurement to ensure there is enough fabric to cover the entire track comfortably.

How To Install

How to Install

Your cubicle track will come with a diagram tailored to the measurements you sent with your order, and so it should be followed.

A line drawing of movatrack cubicle track

Step 1

Cubicle track and wall-footUsing the dimensions of the diagram sent with your track, mark the position on the wall where the wall shoes (see image for the part that attaches the track to the wall) will go.

Fix using suitable fixings (not supplied). All dimensions will be to the centre of the track. It is recommended that the distance between the floor to the underside of the track is 2100mm.

Step 2

Assemble each part of the track, using the track inner joiners where applicable (see below). When fitting the inner track joiners, tighten the outside screws first and then the inner screws for the perfect join.

Connecting cubcile tracks

Step 3

Lift the first section of the track to the wall shoes, ensuring the track is level. A second person supporting any bends will help make this task easy.

Step 4

Using the screws provided, secure the track into the wall shoe. Depending on the layout of the track, join each section together with overlaps (see below), taking care that all fixing holes are used and screws tightened securely for maximum stability.

Joining curves and dividers for cubicles

Step 5

Attach suspension rods (see below), ensuring that at no point the track spans for more than 3000mm without support. If the track has a join, ensure the track is supported within 150mm from the join. Drill a 3mm hole in the top of the track and screw the hanger attachment to the track and fix the ceiling attachment to the ceiling (screws not included). Once in place insert the rod and ensure grub screws are tightened securely using Lex key provided.

Step 6

If the track has no lateral support and spans more than 3000mm please ensure a V-hanger is used (see below). Use a plumb line to mark where the hanger will attach to the ceiling and track (see bottom). Ensure grub screws are tightened securely using Lex key provided.

Step 7

Once the track is fully installed, ensure the gliders run smoothly before hanging your curtain.

HTM66 Compliant & NHS Trusted
HTM66 Compliant & NHS Trusted

HTM66 Compliant & NHS Trusted

HTM66 is one of the many Health Technical Memoranda that the government puts out for guidance on building components for health buildings. The ten-page document covers a whole host of requirements, such as what a cubicle track needs, the ranges of temperature a track should be able to withstand, quietness and smoothness of operation, overall strength and more.

For our tracks to be deemed HTM66 compliant they must meet the requirements, which is why our cubicle tracks are found in hospitals and health care facilities, as well as civilian uses such as beauty and massage facilities, tattoo shops and shop changing rooms across the country.

We’re so proud to be trusted by the NHS to provide cubicle tracks that provide privacy and function flawlessly in those high-pressure environments. You know what they say, if it is good enough for the NHS and the rigours of an active ward, we’re certain our cubicle tracks are capable of handling any application you have in mind for it.
