A look at our best chequered blinds

At DotcomBlinds, we have 100’s of different patterned fabrics available for use on our blinds and curtains, with designs ranging from Floral designs, to Animal inspired patterns and of course we also have Tartan and Plaid patterned fabrics.

Tartan (Sometimes also called Plaid) Patterns have a long history, while the earliest sample of Tartan comes from China over 3,000 years ago, although we tend to think of 17th Century Scotland as the starting point for what we now know as Tartan.

Tartan fabrics became very commonplace in 17th Century Scotland and are now a Bonafede piece of Scottish culture, with Tartan Kilts being one of the biggest fashion icons of Scotland. But Tartan didn’t become popular south of the border until the 1970’s when it started to become commonplace in the rest of the UK.

Nowadays Tartan and Plaid are still incredibly common and popular fabrics, which can be seen used on stylish lumberjack shirts, formalwear and of course – Window Shades!

So, now we’ve had our Tartan history lesson, let’s look at the best Tartan blinds and curtains we have in the DotcomBlinds collection!
