Keep Nosey Neighbours Away With A Privacy Blind

Are you tired of nosey neighbours and curious passers-by peering through your windows into your home? It can be hard to feel comfortable in your own home when you’re worried about someone looking in through your ground floor windows and seeing what’s going on in your home.

We’ve all dealt with a busybody neighbour who thinks we’re up to no good (I’m just trying to eat my dinner in peace Karen!), or a passerby looking in while they’re on their daily stroll (This is my home, not the cinema, leave me alone!)  and while it’s mostly harmless, it can still be uncomfortable knowing your privacy isn’t as secure as you’d like it to be.

If you’re worried about prying eyes looking into your home, you can’t really relax, after all how can you dance like no one’s watching… when there could be someone watching?

So, it’s time for you to secure your privacy, establish some boundaries and stop Nosey Nellys and Peeping Toms from spying in on you… But how can you do that? Well, with a good set of blinds of course!

What Are The Best Blinds For Privacy?

Most blinds will do a slap-up job of securing your privacy and stopping people from peering in, but when it comes to providing privacy not all blinds are made equal. Some blinds still offer intrusive people a chance to peek through, whether it’s between the slats of a Vertical Blind, through the ladder holes on a Metal Venetian Blind, or even around the edges of the fabric of a Roman Blind.

Which is why we’ll give you a quick rundown of the best blinds we offer for providing a high level of privacy and peace of mind!

Totally Black Out Your Windows With Our Total Blackout Blinds

Cassette Blind

When it comes to securing your privacy at home, you cannot beat a set of our Total Blackout Cassette Blinds, these bad boys will make your windows as secure as Fort Knox! These blinds pair our Bosa Blackout fabric, which is too thick for light to pass through, with our cassette system.

Our cassette system was designed to stop light from leaking through the window, by covering the edges of the blind’s fabric, this has the added bonus of guaranteeing that even the most persistent busybodies can’t peer through your windows, giving you the privacy you need to properly relax at home.

The only drawback of using our Total Blackout Cassette Blinds for privacy, is that they are the crem de la crem of blackout blinds, which means your windows won’t be letting any light pass through – While this is great for a bedroom, they’re not so great in say a living room where you want natural light.

Upgrade Your Venetian Blinds By Adding Privacy Tapes

Wood Blind With Privacy Tapes

Wooden Venetian Blinds are a great type of window shade, they have a simple, yet incredibly functional design that gives you an unparalleled level of light control. But that simple design has it’s own drawbacks in the privacy department, as the ladder holes in the slats are juuuuuuuust large enough for a determined peekaboo player to peer in through.

Luckily, we have already thought about this and offer most of our Wooden Venetian Blinds with an option to add privacy tapes to the blind. These privacy tapes run up the blind’s ladder, covering all the ladder holes in each slat to secure your privacy.

Better yet, with a set of Venetian Blinds with privacy tapes, you can still allow light to enter in through your home, by angling the slats of the blinds. You should be able to angle the slats in such a way that let’s light pass into your home, while still obscuring the view from the outside of your home.

Get Privacy Where It Matters With Dual Control Prestige Blinds

Our final pro-privacy blind is our range of Prestige Blinds with Dual Control, while our Prestige blinds are typically used as BiFold Door Blinds and Conservatory Blinds (making them great for conservatory and patio door privacy), they should still work on all the other windows in your home.

What makes the Dual Control element so good for privacy, is that you can position the blinds anywhere on your window, to either block off visibility of the whole window, or just segment off a part of your window. While a looky-loo with a ladder would still be able to see in, you should be able to block normal passersby from looking in, while still allowing light in through the top of the window.

This segmented privacy is good for day to day issues, like blocking off visibility of the bottom part of your windows after getting out of a shower, keeping your privates… erm well private until you can grab a towel without needing to plunge your home into darkness.

But What About The Other Blinds We Sell?

As we mentioned when we last talked about using blinds for home security, pretty much any blind will usually be enough to give you a decent level of privacy and deter any would be thieves, but our Cassette Blinds, Wooden Blinds with privacy tapes and our Prestige Blinds are the proverbial Mac-Daddies when it comes to completely stopping onlookers from looking in.

Other types of blinds may be enough to give you a feeling of privacy and the ability to relax, but if you really want to ensure your privacy is as secure as a bank’s vault you’re best off choosing one of the above blinds.
